Switzerland Travel Information
The Swiss Confederation, or Switzerland, is a landlocked federal republic in Europe. Switzerland has a strong tradition of political and military neutrality, but also of international cooperation, and Switzerland is home to many international organizations. Strong regionalism in Switzerland makes it difficult to speak of a homogeneous Swiss culture. Switzerland is considered a very international country with many who move there to make their home. Switzerland is full of great museums as well as numerous outdoor activities such as hiking, biking and of course skiing the Alps. When you arrive in Switzerland be sure to visit the local tour office for maps and activity recommendations. There are four official languages of Switzerland. These four languages are French, German, Italian and Romansh, Romansch, or Rumansch. Romansh is spoken the least of the four languages and is concentrated in the Southeastern region of Switzerland. When traveling to Switzerland, whether for vacation or business, you will notice the the influence of Germany, France, and Italy on the culture of Switzerland. Amongst the attractions when traveling to Switzerland, you can visit: Le Jetd'Eau in Geneva, Ouchy in Lausanne, Mur des Reformateurs in Geneva, Brienz, Munster in Basel, and Monument Brunswick in Geneva. Switzerland is a beautiful country with something to offer everyone.
